Privacy policy
This policy explains what personal information Simply Ecommerce collects through simplyecommerce.co.za, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It is short because we collect very little.

Who we are
Simply Ecommerce is a digital marketing and ecommerce agency based in Cape Town, South Africa. We are the responsible party for the personal information described here under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). Our Information Officer is Aidan van Vuuren, and you can reach us at infosimplyecommerce.co.za.
What we collect
When you contact us
If you use the enquiry form, we receive your name, email address, company name if you give it, the service you are interested in, and your message. If you email us directly, we receive whatever you include in your email.
When you browse the site
Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. This is needed to deliver the website and protect it from abuse. We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see overall visit statistics, such as which pages are popular. It does not use cookies and does not track you across other websites.
This website does not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels or third-party tracking tools.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and discuss any work you ask us about.
- To keep a record of our correspondence with you.
- To keep the website secure and working, and to understand in aggregate how it is used.
We do not sell your personal information or use it for unrelated marketing.
Cookies
The website does not set its own cookies. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie, for example after checking that a visitor is not an automated bot. The enquiry form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to block spam: it checks your browser for signs of automated activity, and the result is used only to protect the form.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers who process information on our behalf:
- Cloudflare, for website hosting, security, spam protection and visit statistics.
- Resend, which delivers enquiry form submissions to our inbox.
- Google Workspace, which hosts our email.
These providers may store or process information outside South Africa. They are bound by data protection terms that require them to keep it secure. We only share personal information with anyone else where the law requires us to.
How long we keep it
The website does not store enquiry form submissions. They are sent straight to our email. We keep enquiries and correspondence for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and to keep proper business records, and then delete them.
Keeping it secure
The website is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), access to our inbox is limited to the people who need it, and our providers apply industry-standard security.
Your rights
Under POPIA you can ask us to:
- confirm whether we hold personal information about you, and give you a copy of it;
- correct or delete it;
- stop using it, if you object to how we are using it.
To make a request, email infosimplyecommerce.co.za. If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa). If you are outside South Africa, you may have similar rights under your local data protection law, and we will honour them.
Work we do for clients
This policy covers our own website and enquiries. When we work on a client's website, store or advertising accounts, we handle any personal information there on the client's instructions, under our agreement with that client. The client's own privacy policy applies to their customers.
Children
This website is meant for businesses and is not aimed at children.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page if the way we handle personal information changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
